Thank you for sharing that insight. The point I was trying to make in the post is that sometimes extending respect and small kindnesses cause people to listen to us more in the future. And when people listen to us, we have a better chance of influencing them.

I know people who know Thune. They do not have a high opinion of him as a leader or a person who cares.......
