Why I Joined The Union - Carlton
How A Sacred Oath To Protect The Constitution Became A Lifelong Promise
“I will protect and defend the United States from all Threats Foreign and Domestic, so help me God.” For 44 years, I lived that oath and was honored to serve.
Defending our Nation and its values was the core of my professional life. My first oath to the Nation was taken in June of 1969, as a CO-OP student with the United States Coast Guard. Four years later, the US Navy offered me my dream job, in Ocean Acoustic, Research & Development. Again, I took the oath affirming my lifelong commitment to protect and defend the Constitution and this great nation.
Retirement offers the opportunity to protect and defend the United States from all Threats Foreign and Domestic in new ways. I joined The Union to honor my lifelong commitment to defend the United States from all threats.
