Speaker Johnson said he wouldn’t pass a national security bill without a border deal.
President Biden and a bipartisan group of Senators negotiated a border deal.
Speaker Johnson rejected the border deal.
The Senate passed a national security bill without a border deal.
Speaker Johnson says he won’t bring the national security bill for a vote because it doesn’t include a border deal.
Make it make sense!
Said Sheila Markin on February 18, 2024 about MAGA dysfunction:
Can’t pass legislation. Makes false claims. Embarrasses itself …
That’s more than “politics as usual”, that’s dysfunction.
From Meet the thought police of Rockingham County, VA, by Kate Cohen in the Washington Post:
The Rockingham County [VA] School Board recently took up the question of whether to remove 57 books immediately from school libraries, claiming it needed to create a process for … removing books from school libraries. Four members voted yes, and one voted no.
That’s right – they banned 57 books so that they would have a process to ban books.
MAGA Republicans keep telling us what they are doing now and what they want to do in the future. We should believe them. At one point, Former President Trump even called for the termination of parts of the Constitution.
These people are dangerous. They pose a threat to democracy in the US and our way of life.
George Orwell painted an accurate picture of what MAGA Republicans are doing right now when he wrote:
The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.
To this I say, “Either we stop them or they will stop us.”
When you cast your vote, vote for Democracy first. Just about everything else you care about requires it.
