Nina considers herself a moderate with liberal roots.
This post is part of a Q&A series with voters who have volunteered
to share their perspectives leading up to the November 2024 election.
Political Perspective
Nina grew up in and near Baltimore, Maryland, and her ideas about good politics and politicians were shaped by people like Paul Sarbanes and Barbara Mikulski - mostly liberal viewpoints but with notable exceptions for supporting local industries and interests and being thoughtful about the people’s money. She has lived in New England for most of her adult life and has worked in an industry that is often maligned (pharmaceutical research), so she’s gained an appreciation for other views. She says that meeting people who grew up with different influences has been helpful, and because she has gained an understanding from her work that the best solutions often involve lots of discussion and examination, that has also influenced her thinking about developing policy.
Background
Nina is retired, a wife, a mother and a grandmother. She likes cooking, hiking, and travel.
