Goodbye To Shouting Into The Void

I’m a transplant to North Texas from a small town in Southern Illinois, where I practiced family law, estate planning, and estate administration, among other things. Guiding families through the tumultuous dissolution of their partnerships honed my skills in crisis management.

I considered myself a Republican for many years, but my perspective shifted when George W. Bush ordered the invasion of Iraq.  The decision, in my view, was  based upon incorrect information if not outright deception. I started to explore alternative viewpoints through news articles and political satirists such as Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert.

I considered myself an Independent until the nomination of Donald Trump in 2016.  This was my proverbial last straw; the thing that caused me to refuse to vote for any Republican candidate.

When I retired from the practice of law, I ventured into volunteerism. I discovered The Union through a call for volunteers. Within The Union, I found a platform to amplify my voice, particularly by guiding disillusioned Republican voters towards alternative perspectives to Donald Trump.

The Union is also a resource that allows me to connect with partner organizations striving to preserve democracy.  Through partners RideShare2Vote and Swing Left,  I have helped preserve democracy by driving voters to the polls and writing letters for the Democratic party candidate during the New York District 3 special election.

Amidst the frustrations of the 2024 election season, I invite others to join us at The Union. Together, we can elevate our voices and contribute meaningfully to shaping our political landscape. Say goodbye to shouting into the void, and join us today.
